Faces was re-published in 2019 by Daunt Books
Review from Waterstones Bookshop (2019):
First published in 1961 and boasting exquisite black and white photography from Laelia Goehr, Faces prizes its author’s gloriously idiosyncratic descriptions over dry facts and figures. Wistful, charming and eccentric, this attractive volume is the perfect gift for anybody crazy about canines.

from the inside cover
Suki is a tiger cub with an unusual upbringing. When she was born in the London Zoo in April 1963 her mother took no interest in her, and in fact Suki's twin died from neglect. So Suki was raised in the Animal Hospital and it is there that Laelia Goehr took the superb photographs which illustrate this book.
Elspeth Huxley tells Suki's story and at the same time adds a great deal more about tigers in general.
Only a dyed-in -a wool animal hater could resist this book.’
